At the ROC Friese Poort in Leeuwarden, an existing building has been renovated completely. In collaboration with businesses, the location has been made into a Sustainability Center (in Dutch: Centrum Duurzaam). At this location of the Friese Poort, the most innovative products and services relating to sustainability are available. This allows the students to work with these technologies during their study and learn about the newest innovations in the area of LED light.
IdFrm has developed and supplied the light application in collaboration with the technical consultant and the installer. While choosing the different fixtures and light sources, we’ve thought about the environment and the users of the rooms. Students shouldn’t be hindered by the reflections of the light. The light should support them in their goal to study energetically and concentrated.
In the classrooms we’ve placed Grammi inlay fixtures with a 1-10V driver, containing both a detection unit and an emergency unit. Because of this, the light will continue to work, even when there is no power or another emergency situation. The Grammi fixtures are very well suited for placed where the room should be lighted evenly.
In the shared spaces, a more creative approach has been taken with the ceiling. In this ceiling, we’ve placed pendant fixtures of the Elina type and these are driven by DALI driver technology. The light can be dimmed to the right intensity for the moment. These fixtures also have an emergency unit integrated in the fixture.
